Welcome to The Lewis River Salmon Shores! Your get-a-way from the burdens of life!
Located on a private estate in a private neighborhood on the North Fork of the
Lewis River in Southwest Washington, we here at Salmon Shores seek to provide
you a relaxing, natural experience. The melt waters from the Lewis Glacier on
Mt. Adams in the Cascade Mountain range and the rains from this drainage create
the Lewis River.
Salmon come back from the ocean to their home of origin here on the Lewis, just 5
½ miles up river at the Lewis River fish hatchery at Cedar Creek. People who like
to fish come from miles around to try to catch fish on the Lewis. Sightings of
wildlife abound. It’s not uncommon to see deer crossing from the shore to the
islands or osprey hovering over the water before diving for their dinner. An Eagle
clutches a large salmon, while trying to use its wings to swim to the shore of the
island and beaver slap the river with their tails at night to send out their warnings.
Enjoy the view from this upstairs one bedroom experience with a private entrance
at the top of the outside staircase. Around the corner from the entrance a sliding
glass bedroom door opens up to a 5’ x 16’ deck looking out at the North Fork of
the Lewis. There is a kitchenette with a Microwave/Air fryer, a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker and 4 cup coffee pot (coffee included), a toaster and an electric tea pot for boiling water. You will also find a shower/toilet room and a separate room has a Jacuzzi tub and 2 sinks. This suite can sleep 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 kids; in addition to a king size bed, you will also find a hideaway cot, a twin air mattress and a card table with 4 chairs. You may wish to just relax seasonally with a fire in the fire pit, down by the river roasting marsh mellows and making smores!
If you like boating there are many opportunities. Launch your boat on one of the
few private boat launches on the river right here at Salmon Shores and try going
after those Salmon. There are three dams up river starting 10 miles up. The
Merwin, Yale and Swift reservoirs offer fishing, water skiing and other recreation.
The Lewis River, the Columbia River, the Multnomah Channel and the Ridgefield
National Wildlife Refuge are also wonderful options.
Is gambling or live music is your thing. Ilani Casino {pronounced A-la-nA}, which is run by the Cowlitz people is only 7.5 miles away. Ilani mean's “Let’s Play!”
