I would never go anywhere else in Memphis
It has been my first visit to this incredible city - and it won’t be my last. And when I go there the next I will make sure to stay at the Embassy Suites again.
Apart from the general nice pros of the brand (like free parking, complimentary breakfast, evening cocktail reception) this hotel is really special.
It started with a perfect check in - everything by the book but still a very warm welcome - by a very nice and immaculately dressed young front office manager (whose name I would really like to present but do not recall - it was a rather long first name starting with a “M”).
The room (a two room “premium” suite that came at a very reasonable price) was prefect: large, comfortable, quiet, clean and nicely air conditioned upon arrival.
The indoor pool was warm and clean.
The evening cocktail reception was even better than expected and the staff was very friendly and attentive and though there were a lot of guests on those weekend nights everybody seemed to enjoy these hours in the atrium just like us.
The complimentary breakfast is supposed to be (just) continental, when in fact it is a full hot (and cold) breakfast.
What has been really extraordinary though was a personal encounter with a very impressive lady by the name of Lucille Washington that we met in in front of the doorway. She had wished us a good journey and asked wether we had enjoyed our stay and if everything had been up to our expectations. After a nice little chat we felt like leaving family.
