Best of Tulum and Akumal for multi-gen family of 6
Spacious, modern home as represented in the photos. It is beautiful! Neighboring several homes could have some evening party noise but overall 4 day experience was remote, quiet, secure and serene in the jungle. Host Naomi was responsive for info, entry codes and clarifications. The 1.5 km dirt road from the highway is passable for a car but very bumpy, rocky and you will scrap the undercarriage a few times while picking your way to Xun Kari. This drive could be very challenging in the dark BUT directions were “spot on”.The functional details could be better as no drinking water provided, shower pressure is a very low trickle, dryer vent flex hose needs replacement and attachment (lint and humidity into home), no replacement trash bags provided even after multiple requests to the local security staff and much of the patio furniture was not usable due to rain wet cushions or dilapidated straw. The near by cenote is separate (not an “amenity”) but a pleasant quiet stop and good food. The other recommendations that we used were solid and mainstream. I would suggest exploring some less well known other activities from your favorite travel app. One could walk on the minimally traveled dirt road 10 min to Cenote Yax-kin for food / swim or 15 min and catch one of the frequent taxis or local shuttles but you need a car to manage all out of house activities.Overall we loved the vacation and coordinating the drives in and out were part of the adventure.
