Outstanding natural beauty
Enter Cornish holiday heaven at Tideway with world-class views of the spectacular tidal estuary where the Truro and Tresillian rivers join the river Fal, a haven for nature and birdlife including Curlews, Egrets, Ospreys and Grey Herons.
Spacious living and sleeping
Guests can relax in the spacious lounge complete with a Chesneys log burner, comfortable sofas and a sublime cushioned window seat/daybed overlooking the creek (binoculars provided!). The through dining room has a six-person dining table and eclectic antique style.
The kitchen is well-stocked with plenty of equipment for discerning cooks as well as a full oven and hob, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, and large fridge-freezer.
There is also a downstairs WC.
Upstairs, there are three bright bedrooms – the master has a super-king bed and views across the creek, the second has two full size single beds that have been zip-and-linked together to make another super-king but can be separated if required. This room opens out onto a large decked area which catches the evening sun. The third bedroom has one full size single bed and also enjoys views over the river.
Hot tub and tiered gardens
The crowning glory of Tideway is a new hot tub (seating 5 people) in the private raised gardens. From here you’ll experience breathtaking views over the creek in the daytime and stargazing at night - shooting stars can be viewed.
Outside there is a choice of spaces to enjoy – at the back of the house is garden on several levels, leading up to a large lawn, complete with patio at the top. Here there is outside dining for six, and a BBQ, perfect for enjoying lazy afternoons watching the boats come and go in the marina below. There is also a sunny paved garden to the front of the house with garden tables and chairs and a picnic bench.
There is private garage parking for one car, and space for another medium size car on the drive. For your added convenience, a 7kW untethered EV charger is available in the garage.
The area is glorious any time of year, with the changing seasons bringing their own colours and wildlife and river pursuits including Kayaks – we have two kayaks which are yours to borrow at Tideway.
Malpas Village
Malpas has an excellent pub, the Heron Inn, and there is also a farm shop and tearoom by the marina (all 1 minute away). Nearby Boscawen Park has a large adventure playground, café for takeaway food and drinks and pay-and-play tennis courts. There are wonderful countryside walks straight from the house and regular boat tours which you can take from the marina to the bustling town of Falmouth, the National Trust Trelissick Gardens or the beautiful port of St. Mawes. Alternatively, The King Harry Ferry is only 15 mins away, taking you (and your car) over the water and into the Roseland Peninsula and Heritage Coast. Additionally, there is a regular bus service into Truro, three times a day.
Enchanting Truro
Truro offers numerous restaurants, bars and independent shops. You can soak up a little Cornish history at the Royal Cornwall Museum, and there are regular concerts which take place at the stunning Truro Cathedral and Hall for Cornwall. Don’t miss the Truro Food Festival in September and the Falmouth Food Festival in May.
World-class attractions

Please note: There are over 20 steps from the road level to the house. Some of the steps and levels in the garden are steep and varied in height, and may not be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties, and young children should be supervised at all times for safety. Tideway welcomes up to 2 dogs, although it is requested that they do not go on furniture or in the bedrooms.
Malpas is a small quiet village, and all guests are asked to respect the local residents accordingly. Strictly no parties or events are allowed, and we ask that unnecessary noise is kept to a minimum after 10pm. Any guests not adhering to this will be asked to leave the property.
