Relax in the river or swing in hammocks, watch the sunset in the evenings as you grill; spend your evenings enjoying the firepit while roasting s'mores and gazing at the stars… the choice is yours!
Relax + Rejuvenate at the Peace of Soul Treehouse.
The space
Located one hour from New Orleans and Baton Rouge, the Peace of Soul Treehouse is a super convenient getaway.
With our intentional choice to not provide TV or WiFi, it’s easy to unplug from the world here.
Upon entering the treehouse, the living room's wall of windows allows for the perfect view of the river while cozying up on the sofa. The plank walls are made of hand sawn Cypress pulled from the Bogue Chitto River.
The kitchen is fully stocked for you to whip up your favorite meal after a long day on the water. You'll love having a coffee bar with complimentary coffee and tea, along with a spice rack for your meals.
You’ll love relaxing in the main bathroom's clawfoot tub after spending the day in nature.
Coming with another couple or a friend? A second comfy queen bed is tucked into a studio-like space off of the kitchen.
Sleep soundly in our private queen bedroom suite, located across the foot bridge, which boasts views of the trees and river. A rock wall shower brings nature in. (Please note that there is no private bathroom or toilet in this suite, just a shower and sink.)
Our space has been intentionally crafted to allow you to take a deep breath and relax.
Guest access
We have private parking, you’ll need a vehicle to get around.
Other things to note
* The space is intentionally unplugged with NO TV, NO WiFi. Cell service may be spotty. Verizon works best.
* We closely monitor the river's water levels but cannot control mother nature. The river level determines the size of the sandbar.
*If the river level causes the property to become inaccessible via the public road, you will be offered an opportunity to rebook or a refund. *Our house in the trees was originally built as a camp. We have blankets and space heaters, but in the coldest days it can become chilly. We recommend warm clothes or visiting us during warmer times if this doesn’t work for ya!
* The house in the trees is in the woods; please expect to see animals, bugs & insects during your stay. It's the trade off for the beautiful riverfront view. We try to keep the indoors free of any of these, please help us by not leaving food or crumbs around.
* The property is near a couple of properties with part time residents and is near a seasonal tubing and kayaking rental business. You will likely hear the vehicles traveling on the nearest road at a distance.
* We do not provide firewood or coal, although sometimes previous guests leave anything leftover. Please grab some when you purchase your groceries.
