No hot water!
The only problem we had was regarding not having hot water. My son, a plumber has installed tankless hot water systems and was aware that if there is not enough flow the system will not turn on to heat the water. We found that if we turned on other faucets while using the shower hot water was available. I don't know how most people would know this.

Overall it was a good stay, we had a good time. Just FYI, the window in the second bedroom near the bathroom does not lock. The microwave was super dirty and there was trash left under the bed in the back room. There were no paper towels and the first bathroom had a black ring around the tub.

Pleasant Stay
The house was just as described. This was the second time we stayed in one of their homes. The only issue I have, and this prevented me from 5 stars, was we arrived a little after the check in time, and the owners (I am assuming), were there outside and before check out time, they drove by (this was a dead end street). This made us a bit nervous and irritated.

Great little house in St James
We stayed for the weekend. The house was just as pictured, recently remodeled and very clean. We did not not really use the kitchen, but it seemed well stocked. There were towels, snacks, and all the basic supplies you would need for a short stay. The neighborhood was very quiet. The bed in the back bedroom is squeaky, but it was fine. We had a great weekend. Would definitely stay again.

Nice Place to Stay
Nice house, very clean and well stocked. The bedroom in the back has a very noisy mattress but it was comfortable to sleep on so we didn't mind. Convenient location. We spent time in Rolla, at some wineries in St. James, on a float trip at Garrison's campground in Steelville, and at Meramec Spring Park. It was a good central location to get to all of those. Plenty of room for our group of 4. Used the gas grill in the backyard and it worked great. Easy and quick communication with the owner and great price too. We will book again if we're in the area.

The house was absolutely adorable! The only complaint I have is that the master bed is SUPER noisy and a bit uncomfortable. Everyone’s comfort level is different so I’m not worried about that as much as the noise of the mattress. Rolling over or simply just sitting up on the side of the bed made the most obnoxious creaking sounds and would wake us because it was so noisy. Otherwise the place was absolutely perfect! You might also bring a loofah or your own wash cloths as we had shown up expecting to have wash cloths for showering but had to go to the store to buy loofahs. Again, no big deal just something to keep in mind for future tenants. Communication was great! Location, great. My favorite part was the friendly cats (“Big Chonk” and the other I never did get its name!) that hung out on the front porch every evening for some pets and loves! Thank you for sharing your home with my family!
