This was our first time trying VRBO. The experience was pleasant overall. The apartment was clean. The bed was comfortable and linens were clean. No one was upstairs, so it was quiet. The price was reasonable. I enjoyed studying the architecture and imagining how the house and neighborhood were, when they were new. I had miscalculated our departure date, and thought we had another night. The manager was polite and professional. Thankfully, it was available one more night.
Also, this house is 100+ years old. The floors are slanted and warped. Floor tiles are broken and there are unexpected stoops. If you have vertigo or dizziness issues, this isn't the choice for you. The bath has a high step-over and the shower surround isn't even attached to the wall; don't touch it. Banana-peel throw rugs are throughout. The ceiling fans have short pulls, so you must stand on a chair/stool to adjust the fans or lights. (I like sleeping with the fan on, lights off.) I'd recommend cheap and easy chain extensions. There are instructions to leave the thermostat on 78 when you leave, so the house smelled like you'd expect a warm, musty old house to smell upon our arrival.
The off-street parking was convenient, The alley had considerable garbage and smelled of marijuana much of the time. We did not get burglarized during our stay; that was a nice plus.
In summary, I would not choose to stay here again. I also would not deter someone else from this exciting adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
