We absolutely loved our stay at Cana Lua, my only regret is that we only stayed for 1 week. The villa is gorgeous, such a beautiful view and several different areas to chill outside, whether you’re after the sun, or prefer to relax in the shade. The pool was a perfect size for the kids (aged 3 and 7) and it was great to have a large grassy area too where we could play other games. There’s a lovely large table by the outside cooking area, sheltered from the sun, and a table tennis table too which was great. The upstairs room is totally separate from the downstairs i.e. the stairs are outside and there is separate front door. This worked perfectly as my wife’s brother was also staying at the villa and so he was able to totally escape the kids (and us!) whenever he wanted to.
I have to agree with the other reviews regarding Sandra, the owner, who was lovely and so helpful. I managed to rip both of the kids' mosquito nets in their bedroom… word of warning if you sit on the bed without moving the net first! I expected Sandra to deduct this from our deposit of course, but she insisted not and just said, “accidents happen”. My wife also left a bracelet at the villa which Sandra is kindly posting to us.
I believe the 2* review left on here translates to English as “precise driving directions in the dark would have helped us a lot”, which is not a review of the villa itself and totally unfair. The villa is at first a little tricky to find, but Sandra helped us on the phone and if you stick to the instructions Sandra gives you and just follow the track left, you can’t go wrong. If you are using Google Maps as your sat nav, as we did, then we found that entering “Can Xuxu” will take you to the dirt track for Cana Lua, once you are on the track just bear left (don’t of course take the right to Can Xuxu).
