This place is truly unique, and if there was an option for six stars I would have given them. That said, it is not for everyone. We were a family group of 3 separate nuclear families comprising 10 people from infants to grandparents. The compound has 3 separate living quarters which are all spacious. This made it easy for anyone who got tired to come back to a very comfortable oasis. The outdoor spaces encouraged hanging out for long periods. There were small kitchen facilities in each of the living quarters and we cooked one dinner on site. Our group loves walking and for us it was a fun and easy walk to all the sites/sights of Rome. It does require navigating some traffic and many steps however. You can easily walk to Trastavere in 15 minutes. What we most appreciated about the property was the space. There is NOTHING even close to comparable at this price this close to the sights. In addition Victor was amazingly helpful arranging pickups, drop offs, and getting us 2 pack and plays for the babies.
So who would this not be good for? Well, there are many steps within the property, so if there is trouble with stairs this is not a good choice. Also, if you don’t like walking, you should be prepared to Uber a lot. Finally, the place has many idiosyncrasies which we mainly found charming -like “The Durrells in Corfu”. If you want true luxury a 5 star hotel in the city center would be a better choice.
