Congratulations, Barberini... Despite my best efforts to prevent it, you managed to scam me. When I first booked, they sent me an e-mail trying to upgrade me which is against hotels.com policy. when I refused, they all pretended that they didn't speak English. Hours of phone arguments later, and I didn't have to pay for the upgrades for the rooms.
However, they DID charge me €7 PER PERSON PER ROOM PER NIGHT CITY FEE EVEN THOUGH THE WEBSITE CLEARLY STATES THAT IT IS €3.50. unfortunately, it was late at night and I didn't verify it at the time. They just demanded the money when we came back from seeing Rome all day. I was tired. I was trusting. I was robbed.
The made-to-order breakfast is simply a piece of paper in which you have to tell them the night before what you want and they drop it off in your room. We were leaving at 8:00 the next morning so we couldn't get breakfast because they wouldn't deliver it that early. It was cheap, prepackaged, and dry.
Finally, what they don't tell you is that the entryway looks like the back alley of a mechanic. It was dirty, creepyz and ancient.
Oh, and "suites" is completely misleading.
So again, congratulations... You managed to scam me on the extra fees. Next year when we bring the students back to Rome, we will definitely stay elsewhere.
