Our family did enjoy the quietness and privacy of this house. We would strongly suggest, however, that any one staying in this house will want to ensue and take pictures of the home when you first arrive and notify the owner immediately of any issues, as the owner denied items that were damaged before we arrived (i.e. the pull out couch was broken as well as torn seats on the kitchen stools). You will also want to clean the home before you leave, otherwise you won't get back all your damage deposit.
Some of the other issues with the house during our stay:
1. Electrical issues in the kitchen.
2. A propane grill that needed extensive cleaning prior to even being able to start (clogged vents and caked on grease and grime).
3. Raccoon 'feces' on the roof adjacent to the back steps, which was evident and dangerous to children.
4. Two steps that caused dangerous trips (an oversized step off the back sunroom as well as a four inch step into the basement, which was so dark you couldn't see it. Both of these should be corrected or clearly marked.
5. Trouble with the Refrigerator (freezer portion didn't keep food frozen and fridge portion froze food, that had to be thrown away).
Our family has stayed in numerous rental homes over the years and have never had any issues prior to this one. We would certainly be cautious about renting any home that requires a damage deposit. It is solely at the owner's discretion to get any money back. Recommend damage insurance instead.
