My sister and I came down to watch our nephew play collegiate baseball, Accompanied by our daughters, one young adult and the other 5. After a horrendous drive down in pouring rain, we welcomed what we would call home for the weekend. Upon opening the door, we were greeted by a welcoming, nicely decorated space w/ open sitting area, 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a kitchen and dining area.
The more time we spent there, there were a few things that would have made our stay a little better… easily fixable.. my skin itched when I sat in the sofa. Covered it w/ the blanket from the bedroom. Could have used more silverware and pot n pan options. Not sure about plates, we bought paper ones. There was also a stench of cigarette smoke.
The bed I slept in was very comfortable, as was my daughters, although hers squeaked w/ every breath which we found more comical than annoying. My sister and niece slept in the room next to us and their headboard banged against the wall every time they moved. Oddly, there was a sewing pin in the headboard of my bed that my sister came upon w/ her hand. Thankfully it wasn’t my 5 years old niece.
Not too sure about the area. My adult daughter is a runner and I wasn’t comfortable allowing to run the complex by herself so we found a girls’ college with a track that wasn’t too far.
In fairness, I did not contact the host since our stay was short.
Ultimately, it served its purpose. Next time I venture down to NC, I may explore other options.
