The Gin Trap


The Gin Trap is a 1960s Kiwi Bach, but with the mod cons of unlimited wi-fi, smart TV and heatpump. You don't get much closer than this to the beach, sleeping up to six guests across three bedrooms, making this an ideal getaway spot for the family holiday or couples looking for an escape. Perfectly situated on the beachfront, with direct beach access off the lawn to the ocean for swims and long days spent on the sand. Wash off the days sand in the hot outdoor shower. Dinners will be a breeze, with the well equippt kitchen and BBQ available. This is a bach with simple furnishings, a large front deck, along with a spacious section. For those cooler nights, the heatpump will keep you cosy while watching a movie on the Smart TV with Freeview, Netflix or maybe enjoy a game night with one of the many board games on offer. The home is split level - with the Kitchen, Dining, Living, along with Bedroom 2 and 3 on the first level. Both Bedrooms have Queen size beds with drawers underneath for extra storage. The Master bedroom offering a King Size Bed with wardrobe, along with the bathroom on the upper level NB: reached by a small staircase of 5 stairs.
Cleaning fee is $150 which includes all linen, along with Beach Towels.
Directly across the road is our local cafe "Montys" where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch or a coffee.
This home is not only a great base for the beach, but also for exploring near by. With just a 15min drive to Te Puke, 30mins to Mt Maunganui and Tauranga (via toll road) or 40mins to Rotorua and Whakatane. The BP station to refuel your boat is only 5 mins down the road.

Großartiges Ferienhaus

Die Lage und die Ausstattung des wunderschönen Ferienhauses ist perfekt. Ein Highlight ist die Außendusche - kalt/warm und das Verweilen auf der schönen Terrasse mit Blick auf das Meer ist traumhaft. Rachelle ist eine wunderbare und sehr freundliche Gastgeberin. 100%-ige Weiterempfehlung!

Lovely beach house

This house was just as described - perfect beach view and easy access. Host was great about communicating instructions and making sure we had all we needed. Located in a quiet beach community with a great little restaurant just across the road. I wish we could have stayed longer!

This place is Gold!

This bach has everything you need - all the mod cons- and a stunning view to boot. The host is really responsive to emails and gave us a run down of all the best places to eat. Everything is clean and tidy, and in good condition. Beds are comfy and the shower has great water pressure. There's lots for kids to do and it's pet friendly. If the host will have us, we definitely will be going back :)

Perfect getaway place

Loved our stay at the Gin Trap, best part was the view over Tauranga Moana, whether sitting on the sand dunes watching the waves roll in or on the deck watching the kids and dog playing in the yard. House was super comfortable with everything you need and the host lovely to communicate with. Will definitely be back!

Beach Front Beauty

We stayed a week and swam and played in the surf, -just a great place with a well stocked kitchen for us to cook and relax. The lovely large deck and outdoor shower were a nice bonus. The beach here is exceptional for walking and playing, and not many people either, often just the 2 of us.

I loved having the beach directly out the back yard with private access. I left the window open at night so I could hear the crashing of the waves. The view was amazing. The interior of the house was not large but it catered well for the 3 of us. It was tidy and it was great we didn't have to cart blankets and towels etc and were given a complimentary snack pack, thank you. It had everything as described in the description with a humangous deck. Thank you for hosting us and would definitely highly recommend to others.
