We had a lovely vacation in Turks and Caicos, can’t wait to come back! The condo is beautiful, spacious, decorated tastefully, clean and well kept. There are miles of undeveloped beach to take in breathtaking views, especially at sunrise and in the evenings. If you want to explore for your self stop reading. But if you want some suggestions/ tips I can offer what worked for us during our stay.
Definitely pick up groceries in town before heading to the condo. It worked well for us aa we are vegetarian we don’t like eating out more than once a day. The condo was great that way, we could prepare breakfasts/ pasta/ salads/ rice and veggies easily.
We are avid snorkelers, so we would spend the mornings at either smith’s reef or bight bay. We enjoyed the reef, the beaches, the eagle ray sightings. would highly recommend bringing your own gear. My kids are 10 and 13, so smiths reef/ bight bay felt safe but still adventurous enough provided you don’t go out past all the bouys to where the boats traverse.
We would then grab lunch in town.
Just a word on the road out to the condo- leeward highway is fine but you need to pay attention on millennium highway, so you don’t hit a pot hole and swerve. it’s totally doable but that being said it’s a 20-30 minute drive into town, we didn’t feel like doing it more than once a day. Or at night. Keep an eye on your tires- the pressure looked low one day, and we thankfully were in town. I guess it’s quite common to hit a nail on the islands because Avis fixed it up for us quickly. Otherwise It’s easy driving with low speeds, not much traffic, especially if you live in a big city.
We would then head back to the condo, it’s got a perfect hot tub, and is wonderful for walks on the beach or relaxing. At night you can see so many stars! Feels quiet- I guess most people who stay here are looking for that, so it’s lovely. You also get a feel for the entirety of the island, not just the touristy Grace Bay part.
We are grateful we got to come and experience this enchanting place and hope to make it back again:)
