No way this place should have a 4.5 rating! It's 2 stars, maybe 2.5 at best. First at check in we asked for a room with two beds (which is what we had reserved) after initially being given a room with a double bed. The hotel was nearly empty on a Sunday night -- it clearly had twin rooms available -- yet it took 30 minutes of discussion with the staff for them to accommodate us. Why? Next the hotel is located too far from any of the attractions in Phetchabun province; we'd have been better staying closer to Nam Nao Nat'l Park or Khao Kao. The hotel is fine, clean, a bit dated, and relatively inexpensive. It has a nice pool that is open to the public (be weary of weekends). Breakfast is not included, though the food we ordered was fine and delivered quickly. No elevator, luggage cart, or porter, either. If you are on a tight budget, the Homeland Resort will be acceptable. If you are used to typical Thai smile service and a nice complementary breakfast you may want to consider a different hotel.
