Dear VRBO,
We have spent a great deal of money with VRBO and have been renting from you for many years. Nothing prepared us for the horrendous experience we had with this rental. This boat is in Patchogue, NY. Property # 3791269, Reservation ID: HA-VMXXKD.
It has taken us this long to send you this complaint because both my wife and I got sick from the black mold on the ceiling in the bedroom of this boat. We could not get in touch with you or the owner, because the boat did not have Wi-Fi. Additionally, we are also dealing with the recent death of my wife's mother.
These are all the issues that are wrong with this rental (please see enclosed pictures):
1) The boat door lock is inoperable and therefore the property is unsecured and is always open.
2) This place is not clean. There is dirt, spider webs, and dust all over. For example, the first time I walked across the floor (about six steps) in bare feet, the bottoms were black from the dirt.
3) The beds are extremely uncomfortable and have soiled sheets and blankets. I am still having back trouble due to the very old mattress in the bedroom. I order to sleep on the sofa bed, we had to first clean the foam mattresses from the outdoor lounges and then put them under the sofa mattress.
4) There is no silverware, plates, cups, and not much of anything that one needs to eat with.
5) The TV in the bedroom did not work and there were no instructions on how to make it work.
