Introducing Porth Cottage- a property that is packed with Cornish charm and is estimated to be over 300 years old. As you walk in through the traditional cottage doorway into the lounge, you’ll notice the sea themed décor and gorgeous wooden beams. Guests can sink into the comfy sofas in the main lounge with underfloor heating, or continue into the den, to snuggle in the armchair by the electric log effect fireplace.
Porth Cottage sleeps up to 4 guests in two sea and beach themed bedrooms- a double and twin room, both with chunky wood furniture and pitched ceilings. A family bathroom with grey retro tiling offers shower, WC, hand basin, and heated towel rail.
Meals can be taken around a farmhouse table, or outside in the courtyard garden fringed by Cornish palms and shrubbery. The cottage kitchen boasts all modern appliances such as electric hob and oven, microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge/freezer. Porth Cottage conveniently has a washer and dryer located in the utility room, fantastic for cleaning down after a day at the beach. A second WC can be found located on the ground floor.
Porth Beach is only a two-minute walk from the property- it offers a fantastic beach for swimming, and easy access to the Cornish Coastal Footpath. The Mermaid Pub is nestled at the back of the beach, as well as Estrella Morada tapas bar. The cottage has a large parking space, which can accommodate two cars. Porth is a perfect location for day trips into the centre of Newquay, the surfing capitol of the UK, or for venturing further up the coast to visit the foodie heart of Cornwall- Padstow.
Whether you are looking for a family week in the Cornish sunshine, or a storm watching weekend away in the Winter, Porth Cottage provides a perfect base and tranquil retreat. Its quintessential Cornish décor conveys cosiness, charm and a rustic comfort you’ll fall in love with.
