Our travel group consisted of two adult couples visiting Italy for the first time. Our itinerary included Rome, Venice, Bologna, and Florence before traveling to Tenuta la Fuga for much needed respite from an ambitious touring pace. As we made our way from Florence to Tenuta la Fuga (must have a car), we stopped outside Florence at the Folonari family's Ambrogio e Giovanni Folonari Tenute - Tenuta di Nozzole for a previously booked wine tasting. Oliva, our host, met us with a warm and friendly welcome. The facility is beautiful and produces the best wines that we tasted during our visit to Tuscany. The quality is a result of this family's dedication to producing only the best wines with generational knowledge, expertise, and passion. This experience should not be missed. Next, we packed up and drove through the countryside arriving at Tenuta la Fuga, which, in a word, is breathtaking. As previous reviews have described, the pictures cannot capture the essence of this special estate, which indeed reflects it's name, "The Escape." From before we arrived, until our departure, the host Angela and property manager, Davide were communicative, responsive, and especially helpful. The estate is immaculately maintained and very well appointed. We booked a cooking class with Francesco, which was a highlight of our visit; I highly recommend. Tenuta la Fuga is the perfect "escape" from everyday life. Come to pause and contemplate the beauty that is Toscana and all that she provides.
