Villa Bambù stands on a hill in Maratea, immersed in a typical Mediterranean garden where the colours and scents of nature blend together. We are in the countryside with the mountains in front but in reality at the seaside, in Maratea, the coastal pearl of Basilicata. From the elegant verandas that surround the house, one feels suspended between the sea and the mountains with Monte San Biagio standing out imperiously in front, above which towers the tall statue of Christ the Redeemer and from which one can enjoy a splendid panorama of the coast and the mountains, a scene of incomparable beauty. An old sheepcote that has been restored and transformed into a holiday home, its privileged position allows you to enjoy the coolness of the countryside but also to enjoy the sea and the beautiful beaches of this "pearl" set in the Gulf of Policastro and overlooking the Tyrrhenian Sea. The comfortable and functional furnishings are characterised by an elegant style in white and soft colours, in perfect harmony with the typically Mediterranean environment in which it is immersed. The tastefully furnished verandas, equipped with comfortable masonry sofas and elegant little outdoor sofas, and the large French windows that create a constant union between indoors and outdoors, allow you to fully enjoy life in the open air. The villa is located in a residential area but enjoys privacy and tranquillity and is just a few minutes from the centre of Maratea and the small surrounding hamlets where all useful
Interior:
The property consists of the main building (the villa) and an annex. VILLA: On two floors for a total area of about 200 sqm, in addition to the verandas that surround the house on three sides. The main entrance is through the large French window under the main veranda and leads into the living area with a small kitchen on the left and another large French window leading to the outdoor dining area with another kitchen area. On the right, a small corridor leads to the ground floor bedrooms: a single and a double with direct access to the external veranda, and two bathrooms with shower. The floor is completed by the laundry area and a storage room at the back of the house. An internal staircase leads up to the first floor consisting of a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower and a twin bedroom with ensuite bathroom with shower. The two bedrooms have sloping ceilings (with the height ranging from 60 cm to 2.40 m near the bed). ANNEX. On one floor for an area of about 50 sqm, it consists of a living area with two single sofa beds in masonry and a small kitchenette, a double bedroom with direct access to the outside and an ensuite bathroom with shower. Air conditioning in the bedrooms on the first floor and in the annex.
Park:
The park for the exclusive use of guests is completely fenced and designed to ensure privacy and full use of all the set-up spaces. It covers an area of about1000 sqm and is divided into three terraces, connected by flights of stone steps. Once past the vehicle gate, a short curved ramp leads to the parking area with 2/3 shaded spaces. The annex is on the left, with a small veranda on one side and an outdoor shower on the other, under the shade of the hedges. After the first flight of about 15 steps, you come to the second terrace where the swimming pool with lawn solarium is located and, after a second flight of steps, you come to the house, with its elegant and furnished verandas enhancing a garden with strong Mediterranean tones. Masonry sofas alternate with comfortable and elegant little outdoor sofas, with the dining area under the veranda at the end, also equipped with a small kitchen with gas stove and barbecue area with small wood-burning oven. The property is surrounded by a thick hedge of cherry laurel, and the garden is a riot of palm trees, cycads, aloes, agaves, wild roses, hedges of jasmine, bougainvillea, lemon and olive trees, succulents and ficus.Please notice that photos are taken in spring, therefore flower blossoming, and the colours of the gardens' grass could be different at the moment of your arrival at the villa.
Swimming Pool:
The swimming pool is located on a terrace at a lower level than the villa and can be reached down a flight of 16 steps. Rectangular and measuring 5 x10 m with the depth varying from 1.20 to 2.5 m, the pool is lined in PVC and has internal and external lighting and Roman steps for access to the water. The lawn solarium surrounding the pool is equipped with sunbeds, a shady pergola in one corner and a cold-water shower. The pool will be available from the last Saturday in April until the first Saturday in October.
