The hotel was supposed to send an email before our arrival with details on how to collect the key, but they didn't. It took us over an hour on the phone to get in, the given code didn't work, the door wouldn't open. You need to hit the door really hard after the code is accepted. I have a feeling the hotel staff knows about it, but just prefers to ignore. The code from the key collection box inside didn't work as well, we somehow managed to get the key from the utility box. Tge next morning we discovered there were no hot water (as it turned out later it was because of the low water pressure) and it was freezing. I had to call again, spent another half an hour explaining the problem (took a picture of an error message just in case) - this time around I felt they were talking to me as if I'm an idiot... The technician came only a day after I called. Overall, I was very disappointed with my stay. I wouldn't mind minor inconvenience if it were a cheap place in the middle of nowhere, but for a 4-star $280 per night hotel, I don't think it is acceptable.
To be fair, the appartment itself is really nice - comfortable beds, working washer and drier, nice kitchen with pretty much everything you need. The location is great, just a few minutes away from the Liverpool station. It is a bit noisy because there is a pub downstairs, but again it wasn't a huge problem.
