Booked Krishna Niwas - the most premium of cottages during Kumbh Mela
1. The communication after booking was 0. Despite trying to contact the property via email, via a portal that had been created for automatic check-in, via telephone calls, there was zero response, making it extremely inconvenient for overseas travelers to gauge the situation at the venue.
2. Daytime was hot like a furnace in the tent no cooling provided except for a fan. Night time is very cold no heater provided as advertised because of some last minute policy changes
3. The photographs look much nicer than the actual tent set up. It’s musty, dusty, the bathrooms have MDF type boards, plumbing was leaking. Hot water was available only for a few hours in the morning and evening, and it was unclear where all the waste was being channeled as the site was right next to the river.
4. The facility did not provide any transportation to/fro from the airport or the railway station although they had advertised that they would upon request. No alternative arrangements were made to handle transportation breakdowns
5. Food was terrible. Developed food poisoning.
6. The site is so far away from where the Mela area that access was possible only by using a two wheeler or a three wheeler
7. No boats were available for taking guests to the Sangam area as advertised on the site.
8. Overall, terrible for paying USD250 a night. Could have stayed at the Taj instead
