Very dated place, worst mattress I've ever slept on

Ok for a short stay

Friendly staff. Nice enough breakfast. Restaurant attached scrumpy jacks - poor quality food. Room- executive twin had a bath but very mouldy around taps, off putting. Space in room very tight to get ironing board up. Ok for a short stay

Good for the price

Pros: Parking close to town centre. Excellent attitude of staff
Cons: To be able to use both lifts ?
Location: Short stroll to large shopping mall.
First room offered had odour of cigarettes, moved quickly to better room. Breakfast excellent.

Cheap but not cheerful

Pros: Location and function areas.
Cons: Guest bedrooms/bathrooms/ lift updated to a higher and more modern standard.
Location: Modern shopping malls and cinema complex. Old Village area with a wealth of pubs and restaurants.Live music scene. Wealth of sports facilities.
Cheap last minute break. Great location in the heart of the town centre, very limited number of parking spaces for guests. Undergoing some refurbishment and bar/restaurant/function areas all very modern however rooms extremely disappointing; bedroom space generous, bathroom with overbath-shower very small, overall is very tired and dated gives it the feel of not being clean. On a more positive note, we were very pleased to have kettle/iron/hairdryer facilities. Carpets in corridors to room access areas did not appear clean with tape across each step on staircase and walls grubby. Lift access was operational but antique. Staff on reception very pleasant, friendly and helpful. Domestic staff chattering/ gossiping to each other loudly outside rooms early morning. Lovely place for attending a function but definitely don't stay here, a town this size deserves a much higher quality of hotel in this prime location.
