Roaches and upstairs door open
Before arrival the host requested money off the Vrbo site for a deposit. I did not wish to be scammed so I requested a refund. They said they could not do this because of Vrbo’s policy. We went back and forth through messages. My family was already on their way and arrived late. They were driving around to figure out what to do. Frantically looking for a new place to stay for the Thanksgiving week. They offered my family to just stay the night since the person I was speaking with could not get a hold of her higher ups. This home is corporate run for its host. Tired and stressed we agreed to stay one night. Upon arrival we found the upstairs door wide open. Two roaches that we flushed down the toilet. Hair in the drain of the bathroom. When I messaged them about this they told me I should’ve called their team to take care of these things since we didn’t take pictures. Again it was late at night and we weren’t going to call some poor soul to come kill some roaches, close a door, and clean up some hair. That seems just ridiculous. We told them that we left first thing in the morning and found a new place to stay. We did not feel safe nor comfortable in their cleaning abilities. No refund was given. We ended up paying for two homes that week for no reason at all. They would not budge on the refund. I felt attacked and my integrity was being questioned with our every interaction. I will never rent a home from their company again.
