There are hotels, and there is La Verriere! The desceiption online does not give ita due to the place. We stayed for 2 nights but could probbaly have stayed for a week and enjoy. The best word to describe La Verriere is 'impeccable'. It is located at the Chene Bleu winery at a 9th centiry priory. The hotel part of the estate offers a lovely garden, an infinity pool, a hot tub, and a small gym. There is also a summer kitchen with coffee, tea, some sweets and refrigirators. We bought our lunch at a market in the nearby Vaison la Romaine and had a picnic lunch by the pool. The breakfast had everything we wanted, and there is also a 4 course dinner available upon request which we enjoyed both evenings. The winery tour and a tasting are complimentary for guests. We even shipped some wine home.
There is plenty of hiking and biking around. La Verriere is also a nice lauchpad to see other Cote du Rhone villages and wineries. Now, it is a little off the beaten path to get to, but we loved it and did not feel that the few extra minutes of driving to get to the place jmpacted us.
