Located oceanside in the community of Monteray Shores, your family will love this home's proximity to great shopping, grocery stores, and entertainment. It's just a short walk or drive to the beach. Don't feel like going to the beach? Take a dip in the oversized private pool or enjoy a starry night in the hot tub. Whatever your pleasure, A Mermaid's Tale is not to be missed! Monteray Shores offers some great community amenities, summer activities, and a clubhouse with a pool and tennis courts.

Ground Level: This floor offers entrance to the home, where you will also find the laundry area. Outside is a totally gated private pool, hot tub, and outside shower.

Mid Level: This level features a lovely main bedroom with a queen bed and deck access. Another main bedroom room with a queen bed includes deck access and shared a hall bathroom with a bunk room. The bunk room features a twin-over-twin bunk.

Top Level: This level features a spacious great room with a TV and DVD player, gas fireplace, and deck access through a sliding glass door. A nicely equipped kitchen has bar seating for three guests and a separate dining area. You will also find the main bedroom with a king bed with deck access through a sliding door. Rounding out this home is a half bath off the great room.

Amenities: Guests can enjoy an oversized private 16-foot by 32-foot unheated Pool, a gated pool, hot tub, multiple TVs, a gas fireplace, gas grill, WiFi, a hammock swing, and a sunny and shaded deck space.

Guests can enjoy an outside pool, wading pool, a kid’s playroom, four shared tennis courts, basketball courts, fitness center, and a multi-use trail for biking and walking.

For January and February bookings, please contact the property management company to ensure the hot tub is available.
This property is managed by Vacasa North Carolina LLC
You will be required to sign an additional lease agreement upon making a booking which will be sent to your email. You will not be able to check in until we have received your signature electronically.
Fireplaces are available November 1st through April 1st.
Private Pool Dates: The private pool is open May 1st through October 15th. The private pool is unavailable outside of these dates.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.




Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.

Beautiful Area, Beautiful location and a wonderful time
The area is very relaxing and this place was beautiful and clean we highly recommend staying here. You have to go see the wild horse but take a guided tour you won’t regret it

3 generations get away
House was very clean when we arrived. Very light and bright house with an awesome outdoor pool area- pool is huge and the seating areas poolside and the quality of the outdoor furniture was great! New flooring throughout looked fantastic and is so much better than carpet. So many deck seating options, we all found our own quiet little spot when we wanted to. My only suggestion for the owners is a new mattress for the king bed or at the least a pillow top pad added to the current mattress and maybe set up the living room furniture a little more conducive for 6-8 people to comfortably watch a movie at night. Great location! We would stay again.

The location was very nice. The home and pool were great for our need. The kitchen was well stocked with cooking supplies. We were not smarter than the tv and someone came and solved the problem quickly and efficiently.

This home is beautiful and located close to so many things!! The pool and hot tub were great and all the bedrooms and bathrooms totally accommodated my family. Just wish the cleaners would have done a more detailed clean. Some areas were missed but over all enjoyed every piece of the home!!!

Just Needs a Little TLC
Vacasa didn’t clean this house as well as others we’ve stayed in. Microwave & oven didn’t work. No sharp knives or non-stick pans. Master bed was uncomfortably hard, as were the pillows. We found softer pillows in the closet. The hot tub was great. Too cold to use the pool. You can’t see the ocean from the house. Corolla was nice though.

This house was great!
This house was as great as it looks! It had everything we needed for our stay and plenty of room for our family to hang out. The pool is awesome and we all loved it! The decks have “hang out” areas everywhere that we all loved! We timed the walk to the beach, it’s an 8 minute walk at a good clip. The issues we had were with cleanliness. The owners would benefit from checking behind the housekeepers or changing companies. They didn’t vacuum, the master toilet had visible gunk under the rim, there was leftover hair and spots on the mirror in the master bathroom. My son pulled two handfuls of hair from the bathtub drain in his bathroom and had rocks an his floor. When we stripped the beds for checkout my daughter remarked that she questioned the cleanliness of the bed she had been sleeping on all week. They also haven’t dusted in quite a while. So, we LOVED the house and our stay but the housekeepers should be checked behind.

Great house
This house was amazing! From the outside seating areas, the hot tub and spacious pool that we couldn't keep the kids out of. My only complaint is there are no TV's in the bedrooms and no blender which is a "must" for me on vacation. However I would definitely recommend and/or stay here again.

Great vacation home
This home was great for our family vacation. We had 3 adult couples and one child. We loved the large pool and the expansive deck area on every level of the house with plenty of seating and a lovely porch swing. We were close enough to walk to the beach or a short drive away to where we could drive on the beach. The only negatives were the small kitchen and the lack of a TV in the master bedroom. Overall we really enjoyed our stay here.

Nice house, great pool
Was looking for a large rectangular backyard pool for lap swimming, and this house delivered! 4th bedroom is a pullout and room is quite small. Appreciated two full bathrooms on floor with three bedrooms. Would have appreciated a slightly higher level of cleaning and sanitizing upon entry. Kitchen is well equipped. Views are nice over the trees and the sound of ocean is excellent. Overall, 4/5!!

Great Family Trip
The property was great for my family of 7. The walk to the beach was a quick 5 to 10 minutes and was an easy walk. Our wagon came in handy as it was a boardwalk like path to the beach. The house was great and the kids loved the large private pool and hot tub. The multi level decks were great as well. The kitchen also had everything that you needed. It was a nice quiet neighborhood with easy access to all that Corolla has to offer. The only negative was that they were building a house next door which was loud at times, but it really wasn’t an issue as they were gone by 5 each day so we had enjoyable peaceful evenings after being at the beach during the day. I would highly recommend the property. All and all a great trip.
