Cozy Lakeside Log Cabin Perfect for Any Season

Our vintage 1940 log cabin, thoughtfully updated in 2017, welcomes you to a world of beauty and modern comforts. With three cozy bedrooms, two pristine bathrooms, and a brand-new kitchen, you'll have all the amenities you need. The spacious deck entices you to relax and savor the fresh air, while the dock invites you to cast a line into the clear waters or simply soak in the sun and lake views. Spend your days fishing, kayaking, boating, then return to enjoy the starlit evenings by the fire pit.

Half a mile to Moosebirds for boat rental, ice cream cones, basic groceries and fun souvenirs. Less than a mile from the cabin to the public boat launch and the Landing restaurant. 7 miles to Cook for gas and food. Cook has the historic Comet Movie Theater (also a coffee shop and clothing boutique), the cozy local Montana Café, yoga classes, the Forestry Service Welcome Center, the Quilting Cabin, Last Chance Liquor and Cook’s Country Connection with learning farm and petting zoo fun for kids and adults. Zups is the local grocery store in Cook. 30 miles to Virginia for Super One grocery store, Natural Foods Co-op, Target, Walmart theaters and Menards. 30 miles to Ely for the International Wolf Center, the bear museum, access to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area and several hiking trails. Golf only 3 miles away at Vermilion Fairways or 17 miles to the Wilderness Golf Course (one of the top 100 courses in the country) and Fortune Bay Casino. The Vince Schutte Bear Sanctuary in Orr is a unique experience and the Tower-Soudan Underground Mine and Lake Vermilion State Park in Tower are other unique opportunities.

You will need a car. Parking available for two cars near the main entrance under the canoe. Please do not park in the neighbor’s driveway west of the cabin in front of the red garage. (Please contact us if you require additional parking for cars or a boat trailer.)
-No parties! We want you to have a good time, but please do not throw parties with excessive noise or activity that will cause damages. We love this cabin and ask that you treat it well and have fun respectfully. We WILL keep the security deposit for any damages or excessive messes. Thank you! -Please flush paper only. Flushing wipes, tampons, diapers, etc WILL cause embarrassing and damaging clogs in the water system. Security deposits will be collected for damage to the system. Thanks for your help! -No smoking inside. (Please pick up cigarette butts.) -Not pets allowed anywhere on the property. -Please note this is a rural area: WiFi and cell service can be intermittent. -Please use caution by the large fire pit, and only burn firewood. Bring your own firewood or purchase from Moosebirds. -No pine in the fireplace: please burn hard wood only. Bring your own hard wood firewood or purchase from Moosebirds and please use caution when using the fireplace. -Please acknowledge that guests must climb steep stairs and there is a camera on the front door. -Please do not use white towels or cloths for spills or things that will stain, use paper towels instead. Please use only one set of sheets per bed. -If extra clean up beyond the normal cleaning protocol is necessary, we will charge an additional cleaning fee. -Please take any fish guts and waste from fishing with you upon check out. (We recommend freezing in a plastic bag for easy and stink-free removal.) Please do not leave fish guts anywhere on the property. -Please do not discharge weapons of any kind anywhere on the property. -Do not exceed 8 people on the property. (This is the maximum that our water system can handle.) -If you plan to enjoy the lake, please bring your own lifejackets -Quiet hours: 10:00p to 7:00a. Please be respectful of the neighbors. We don’t allow big parties that can cause damages and ask that you please be respectful of the property and finish up before midnight. -Check-in time is after 4:00p and check out by 11:00a. There is an early check in and late check out fee of an additional $50 per hour. Our cleaners need all of the time allotted between check out and check in to prepare the property. Thank you for understanding. -We welcome you! But, failure to follow the rules will result in being asked to leave mid- reservation, with no refund.
