As expected for a 2-star motel, this place was simply a spot to sleep and shower—nothing fancy. The price was the cheapest option around, which was important since I was in town for a funeral and the flight tickets were quite expensive.
The cleanliness could have been better; while the room appeared wiped down, it didn't feel truly clean. Several areas needed more attention, although the bedding was clean. The door seal in my room was eroded, allowing debris to blow in when the landscapers were working outside. The room had a musty smell, and the air conditioning wasn't effective. I left it on high all day while I was out, but returned to a still-musty room. At night, I had to turn the AC off because it was too noisy.
Additionally, the water temperature in the shower was problematic—there was no cool option, just scalding hot. I didn't request assistance with these issues because I prefer not to have staff in my room while I'm out for security reasons, and I didn't want to move rooms since mine was next to a family member's, which made me feel safer.
The surrounding area was rather depressing, with several abandoned buildings nearby. However, it was within walking distance of a McDonald's and a gas station. The motel's pool was green and locked, so it was unusable.
In short, I got what I paid for.
