Cabin 53 steps from Porter Beach on Lake Michigan: Family & Pet-Friendly

This cabin has the best view of Lake Michigan and the Chicago Skyline, inside and outside. This delightfully open cabin with two bedrooms and a perfect view of Porter Beach and Lake Michigan is nestled in the Indiana Dunes and just 53 steps away from magnificent Lake Michigan. The only thing between you and the lake is 53 stairs and a lovely sand beach. There is sleeping for 4 currently but the couch can be used to sleep 2 more people. Ample seating in the living area includes dining room chairs and living room sofa with spinning chairs. The dining room table can be expanded to meet 9 persons dining needs or the leaves can be easily hidden away for a more intimate dining experience. The kitchen is spacious and fully equipped with a full size refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave, toaster, Kuerig cup coffee maker, and Central Air (Furnace/Air Conditioning). All linens (bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes and dish towels, bedding) are provided. There is a full wrap around deck with chairs and a Weber propane gas grill. The beach is a public beach, about a half mile from the main Dunes State Park Beach, we have beach toys for children of all ages, footballs, spike ball, soccer balls and other beach games. This is the top level of a 2 story cabin with 2 parking spaces, there are no people staying in the basement of the property, it is unfinished. Should you want to venture beyond the beach numerous nearby attractions include Chesterton European Market (Saturdays), hiking, biking, dining, breweries, shopping, museums, art galleries, an arboretum, golfing, waterpark, farmers markets, live theatre, movie theatres, skating, bowling and much more.

Amazing Views!
This cabin has an amazing views of Lake Michigan!! We loved our stay here...so peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was clean and the hosts provided lots of little extras (shampoo, bar soap, coffee pods). It is not a "luxury" feel....but everything is well maintained and very clean. We will definitely stay here again!!!

Peaceful retreat
I booked this property because of location near Chesterton where my family had a funeral to attend. It turned out to be so much more than a place to sleep. The house was lovely, exactly as described. We had busy time and free time - lots of laughs and tears. During the free time, it was relaxing and almost theroputic to be able to watch and listen to the waves. It turned out to be just what my family needed in a troubling time. Thank you for sharing your house with us.

Absolutely breathtaking, ready to go back!
My husband, 2 year old daughter, and I needed to find a place last minute to stay in Northern Indiana and stumbled upon this. We had no idea that there was a National/State Sand Dune park, or a beautiful beach in this area. We were beyond excited to find this beautiful gem of a cottage to stay in.

Incredible View!
Our 6 adults and 2 dogs stayed for a quiet weekend. The home was so cozy, and full of the amenities we needed. The beds are worth mentioning…hubby and I both commented on how comfortable they were. The view of Lake Michigan is superb and the wall of windows was perfect. Also worth noting, there were USB ports all over the home, which was so convenient! Host was friendly, clear, and readily available. Neighbors were friendly, beach was lovely. 5 star property

Wonderful Getaway
Our girls trip to St. Pete Beach had to be cancelled due to the two hurricanes. We found this place to go to. Even though it wasn’t as warm as Florida, we still were able to walk the beach and enjoy the stunning views of Lake Michigan. The host allowed us to check in early and this is a place we would love to go back in the summertime!

Beautiful Beach Weekend and Perfect Proposal!
The images on the listing only provide a taste of the truly immaculate view. The property provides a beachside escape for the weekend. The home was stocked with everything you could need, especially in the kitchen. I'm thankful I selected this spot to propose! Will and Liz went above and beyond to help me pull off my fiancé's dream engagement. Their home gave me the opportunity for the perfect moment. We're already planning our trip back and couldn't recommend staying here enough!

This was our first stay somewhere other than a hotel. It was absolutely amazing! The house is so cute and it was very clean when we arrived, and the view is to die for! The owners provided so much information in a binder, we never had to wonder what to do or where to go. The most amazing thing was the owners, they were so easy to reach, and very friendly and helpful. I accidentally locked the keys in the house while there, and he was there to unlock the house for us again in 10 minutes. I also had an issue with VRBO, and the owner reached out to make sure I had everything I needed. Will definitely return to this property!

Most relaxing vacation ever!
This house is in a perfect location and on a dune!! It is only a mile walk to the state park with plenty of trails to hike. The beach had plenty of open space for my family and I to play frisbee and bocce ball. The windows in the living room had the perfect view of Lake Michigan. The house was cozy and clean and has the cutest decorations. It was the ultimate relaxing vacation

Beautiful Indiana Coast Getaway
Feeling so lucky to have found a perfect cottage near Indiana Dunes overlooking Lake Michigan. Beautifully decorated, plenty of room, private parking, exceptionally clean, and the most beautiful view. We spent hours on the big deck enjoying time with friends and lake coast. We could easily access the beach for walking and swimming. We are looking forward to returning next year.

Amazing Place, Amazing Host
We enjoyed 2 days of relaxation on the beach. The view of Lake Michigan is amazing. Reading on the deck, walks on the beach and the farmer’s market were the highlights of our stay. The views from this very clean and comfortable beach home are stunning! We enjoyed the nightly sunsets on the beautiful wrap around deck. Host supplies numerous extras including everything needed for beach and water fun. Loved the close proximity to Indiana Dunes and Michigan for sight-seeing. Easy access to highways, grocery stores and restaurants. Highly recommend!

This place is lovely! The wall of windows facing the lake, large wrap around porch and incredible view of the lake was enough to make us fall in love with this place. Owners are easy to communicate with and contact. If you want an escape you need to book some time here!
