THE NEIGHBORHOOD
A chic, attractive, and harmonious neighborhood with its elegant buildings, luxury shops, theaters, and some of the best restaurants in Bordeaux. On one side, the area is bordered by Cours de l’Intendance, Cours Georges-Clémenceau, and Cours Xavier-Arnozan, the famous Golden Triangle, offering a magnificent view of Place de la Comédie, Place Tourny, Place des Quinconces, and the Grand Théâtre. Place des Grands Hommes, a neoclassical district, reflects the new vision of urban planning after the French Revolution. There are many English-style shops, all frequented by the Bordeaux high society. A tradition you will still note at the Brasserie Le Noailles. On the other side are the City Hall (the impressive Palais Rohan), Saint-André Cathedral, and the Pey-Berland Tower, a bell tower topped by a gilded bronze statue of the Lady of Aquitaine. The heart of the city, recently renovated. You can explore the area on foot.
