I had been to the Keys before but never to Big Pine Key or this particular area. It's far less touristy than many other spots but honestly is ideal for exploring every part of the Keys while being far more peaceful.
There are a number of wonderful things about this house for a small group beginning with the lot itself. It resides at the end of the street right on the water and you will have total privacy with plenty of outdoor space. It was ideal for our dog as she felt very conformable zooming around the perimeter. There is also a local park that she loved about 10 mins away.
The kitchen was absolutely superb. You will have all the gadgets, appliances, cutlery, pot, pans, cutting boards, etc that you need for a long term stay. It is a well organized kitchen and suited our needs perfectly.
The bedrooms are quite cozy with great mattresses and ceiling fans in all three rooms along with plenty of closet space in the master. The living room boasts a great sectional couch with additional comfortable chairs and all of the electronics were very easy to operate.
The highlight of the house was the patio which was fantastic, especially for sunrise. You do need to protect yourself from those no-see-ums but much of our time was spent chilling on the patio with that fabulous view including jumping dolphins on occasion! Kayaking right out back was also a tremendous treat!
As a final note my communication with the owner (Diana) during our stay, over some minor issues, was seamless and much appreciated. She was incredibly kind, helpful, and truly went beyond anything I expected from my past VRBO experiences. And that makes a big, big, difference in my future vacation choices. Thank you so much Diana and we all hope to come back!
