We stayed 2 nights starting on May 9, 2024. We were looking for a peaceful retreat, and this place was it! The Sol Duc River was absolutely beautiful and provided the solitude we desired. Take a chair down by the river and watch for the red-tailed hawk to swoop in for a meal. Bring your binoculars! The weather was perfectly sunny with highs in the upper 60s & lower 70s when we were there. We enjoyed eating our meals on the beautiful back deck that overlooks the river. The bird feeders, including a hummingbird feeder, were nice additions to enjoy the local birds.
The cabin was spotless and had everything we needed in the kitchen to make our meals. We used the fan stored in the bedroom closet for white noise to drown out the traffic on Hwy 101. We also found a step stool in that same closet which is very handy for reaching the dishes in the kitchen. The cabin is decorated beautifully and feels like a home, not just a place to rent. The hot tub was perfect after a day of hiking. You will find the light switch for the vanity lights in the bathroom on the outside of the bathroom door, while there is a switch for the fan/light on the inside of the bathroom.
This place is somewhat remote, but it was perfect in proximity to all the things on our agenda: sunset & low tide at La Push (Second Beach), Cape Flattery, Sol Duc Falls, and Hoh Rain Forest, which we did the day we left.
We recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a peaceful time away!
