When you walk down the lovely streets in Bath, and you see rows of imposing stone apartment buildings, you are inclined to think that all those stone dwellings must be kind of dark. Sure enough, when you walk into the main hall of this property, there are no windows. You enter the flat and turn on the light because, again, no windows.
Then you start opening the doors and are immediately bathed in light.
The spacious and comfortable living/dining area has an entire long wall of enormous windows, all facing a private garden with delicious views of greenery. We were there in late September, and there were still pink roses blooming at the top of a large bush. Across the hall, the kitchen is also bright and cheerful. It’s a good-sized kitchen and Doug – he’s the one who cooks – found it comfortable and easy to work in. Doug also appreciated an excellent grocery store two minutes away, for those times when we were too tired to visit on of the nearby restaurants.
Downstairs, there’s a bright and charming smaller bedroom and a master bedroom that will knock your socks off. That pretty and private garden you can admire from the upstairs living area is right outside the bedroom door. Again, enormous windows, so you wake up in a private garden of your very own. A door in the bedroom lets you walk into the garden without walking through the rest of the flat.
