- Santamar has 2 more beachside pools that allow easy private beach access to walk miles on the white sands.
- 5-minute drive to Tulum Country Club to play on world-class PGA golf courses. Located 2 Miles south of Akumal Bay which offers many restaurant choices and local artistry shops. 8 Miles north of Tulum. Easy walk south to lovely beachfront bar/restaurant to enjoy a swing overlooking the beautiful blue sea *Cash/Z elle only. North 1/2 mile walk by beach (wear sandals or aqua shoes) there is a lovely restaurant "Jungle Fish" which takes Cash or Card with a pool for their guests to enjoy serving fresh fish, ceviche, large menu assortment of food and drinks. Bring shoes for exploring as there is also a unique lava point to explore. directly in front of the condos.

Step inside the luminous open living area, complete with a cozy sofa and wall-mounted Smart TV for relaxing downtime moments at home. There’s a plush king-sized bed with luxurious linens to accommodate two guests comfortably and a full bathroom. Large sofa "could allow a third guest (*Not a pull out). Verify with the host upon booking.
You’ll have a fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances and a 2-top dining table to enjoy meals at home. There’s also a large island/breakfast bar with three chairs for meal prep, coffee and conversation.
Outside on the 3rd-floor balcony, you’ll find lounger and two chairs for the perfect spot to relax and soak up the sun or relax with a beverage to enjoy the sea breezes and sounds of the waves.
For your convenience there is a washer-dryer in the unit. Remote workers can enjoy large desk/chair with high-speed internet.
At Santamar by Tao complex, you can enjoy the shared amenities like the 7 rooftop pools with loungers and tables. One at each tower, guests have access to all of them! Two beachside pools, also two jungle facing pools as well. A private Santamar Beach Club with 2 more pools to allow private access to the white sandy beach. All with bathroom facilities.
Guest Access:
Santamar is tucked away in a unique beautiful jungle setting in Punta Sur with direct access to the beach. Listed in the unit are several local Taxi phone numbers. Please confirm your destination and cost they will offer roundtrip if you prefer. Collectivo is also available at the entrance/Highway which runs 24 hours a day which is inexpensive. Or if you prefer to rent a car. Parking is available directly in front of the condos for your convenience. *The condominium access road is marked by a small sign on HWY 307 as PUNTA SUR. It is beach access gravel road that is enveloped by the beautiful jungle foliage.
The Neighborhood:
Akumal means “The Place of Turtles,” and it lives up to its name as it’s one of the top sea turtle nesting spots in the Mexican Caribbean. You’ll also find lots of water activities here, nearby eco-parks with underground rivers, Mayan ruins, cenotes (natural freshwater sinkholes) & the Akumal Monkey Sanctuary.
There is walking access to the beach north towards Akumal Playa and two restaurants within walking distance (less than 1/2 mile by the beach): Jungle Fish to the north and Beached Bikini to the south that offers delicious food and drinks as well as a pool to cool off.
Kay Beach Club is less than a 10-minute drive (1 mile away) and is a public Beach Club run by Tao. Here, you can go snorkeling or scuba diving! Beached Bikini Bar is only a 15-minute walk south on the beach.
Casa Club at Tulum Country Club (PGA golf course) is located across the street from Santamar entrance road, about 4.4 km | 2.7 mi away. And Grand Bahia Residences & Golf is about 4.7 km | 2.9 mi away.
You’ll be a short drive from Akumal town, where you’ll find small convenience stores if needed and the famous “swim with sea turtles at Akumal Bay” activity. (3.2 km|2 mi). There’s also a Wellness Center there, and day trips to Playa del Carmen or Tulum are easy to access, too!
Getting Around:
Santamar by Tao is 94 km or 58.4 miles, one hour and a 12-minute drive from the Cancun International Airport (CUN) when there’s no traffic. Please check your mobile map apps for accurate driving time. The development is situated on the beachside of the highway in Akumal and is only accessible by vehicle.
Both collectivos (shared vans) and taxis are available. Collectivos are very affordable, making them a budget-friendly option, while taxis offer convenience and privacy for a higher cost.
Other Things to Note:
Electricity is expensive here, so please help save energy by. using the AC only when needed, closing all windows and doors when it's on, and shutting it off every time you leave. A daily allowance of 20Kw/Dy of electricity is included for short-term rentals (2-27 nights). Additional consumption will be charged at 3.85 mxn/kw. Electricity is not included for bookings of 28 nights or more. On arrival, our local team will take a meter reading, and again on departure. You will be billed after check-out for any additional consumption.
We do supply you with a starter kit of limited home and bath essentials, like toilet paper, soap, paper towels, and some trash bags. These items are not replenished each time you run out. There is a large grocery store in NORTH in Puenta Adventuras or a small general store in Akumal Bay for essentials. If you would like the host to arrange for grocery delivery for your convenience upon your arrival date, please ask. *Note: This service incurs a fee for the convenience as well as a percentage of the total bill.
Please note that there is a mandatory cleaning service every from 21 nights on & every 21 days, at a charge of $50 USD. If your stay is between 21 and 42 nights, you'll be charged an additional $50; for stays between 42 and 63 nights, two cleaning fees ($100 total) will apply, and for every additional 21 nights thereafter, $50 will be charged.
There’s an extra charge for additional guests/visitors over the capacity of the property. Please ask the host.
Please note: the unit does have a reverse osmosis system for cooking and drinking water. Ice trays for making ice using the reverse osmosis water.
A security deposit may be required prior to arrival or at check-in, subject to the booking platform used to make the reservation. This fee is charged as a credit card transaction and refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.
The condominium complex uses surveillance cameras on the exterior of the premises. These cameras are strictly for security reasons only. 24 hour guards at each entrance.
Long-term stays are available. Large desk and with great 5G Wi-Fi, it’s great for the remote worker digital nomad!

- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed. No tent or other structures may be set up on the property grounds.
- Renters agree to cover any charge related to damages that occurred during their stay or cover necessary extra-cleaning charges if needed after their stay.
- Renters may be required to provide a government ID on the day of checking in or during their stay.
- Please avoid moving furniture.
- Pets are not allowed.
